Tech Networks of Boston (also known as TNB) invites local employees of nonprofit organizations to a Roundtable session on data and evaluation from the perspective of grantmakers.
Our first session on this topic took place in March, and evoked such strong interest that it was booked to capacity in two hours, with more than 130 people on the waiting list. We therefore are eager to offer a reprise of this session. Jessica del Rosario of the Massachusetts Convergence Partnership has very kindly volunteered to assemble a panel of grantmakers for this session:
- Dian Quinn Parker, Senior Vice President, Senior Philanthropic Relationship Manager, U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management
- Catherine Dun Rappaport, Vice President of Learning, Research and Analytics, United Way of Massachusetts Bay & Merrimack Valley
- Prentice Zinn, Director, GMA Foundations
- Jessica del Rosario, Project Director, Massachusetts Convergence Partnership
We invite you to participate in a candid conversation with funders about how they think about and assess nonprofits’ data and evaluation systems, and the uses and limits of data and evaluation in the application process. With increased competition for limited philanthropic dollars, many funders are using terms such as “return on investment,” when talking about making grants. Get a glimpse into what the panelists’ experiences have been in making these kinds of assessments, where they feel the strengths and weaknesses of a metrics-focused review process are, and how they think about rounding out the data picture.
In keeping with the spirit of the TNB Roundtable series, this session will NOT be a sales pitch for any product or service. Further, we ask the nonprofit professionals who attend NOT to pitch their organizations or specific projects to any of the panelists. This Roundtable is an educational opportunity for nonprofit professionals to learn along with their peers from other organizations.
Please also note:
1) This session is designed exclusively for employees of nonprofit organizations. It is not designed to meet the needs of vendors, volunteers, students, consultants, job-seekers, and others.
2) Priority in registration will be given to those who are employed by nonprofit organizations that hold full membership in the Massachusetts Nonprofit Network.
3) Participation in this session is free of charge for nonprofit professionals. However, you must have a confirmed reservation in order to attend.
4) If this session is booked to capacity by the time you seek to register for it, please go ahead and put yourself on the waiting list. We have a good track record of finding seats for nonprofit professionals on the waiting list.
We hope that you can join us for a vigorous and informative conversation!
